Seize the Moment

This week I have had to use my treadmill more than I prefer to due to my policy of not running outside in temperatures under 40 degrees. This policy is pretty flexible as long as I know the temperature will eventually increase during my run. The treadmill is the most dreaded machine but beneficial when training and the weather gods do not cooperate.

Today, amid winter, I awoke to a drizzly 52 degrees. Without a second thought, I quickly laced up and ran outside.

The feeling was pure bliss, and the sunrise views were everything i needed to motivate and conquer my exercise goals. Not one ounce of regret crossed my mind as I trekked the streets of my neighborhood at 6:30 AM on the hilly strides as the misty air filled my face, and I enjoyed my latest book on audio.
